Dubois County Council — RDA Withdrawal Vote

The Dubois County Council is scheduled to hold a formal vote on whether to withdraw from the Mid-States Corridor Regional Development Authority. This follows months of public pressure, professional polling showing 81% opposition, and Brad's presentation of a withdrawal resolution at the February meeting. Public comment expected. Show up and be heard.
On February 23, 2026, Brad Hochgesang presented a resolution to the Dubois County Council requesting they withdraw from the Mid-States Corridor Regional Development Authority. The council deferred a formal vote to their regular March meeting.
This follows months of organized opposition: eight town halls across Dubois County, a professional poll of 636 registered voters showing 81% oppose the project, a statewide poll showing 74% of Hoosiers want it canceled, and growing fiscal concerns from county commissioners about the project's cost burden.
The March 30 meeting is expected to include public comment. If you care about property rights, transparent government, and how your tax dollars are spent, this is the meeting to attend.

Dubois County Council — Final RDA Withdrawal Vote

The Dubois County Council took its final vote on Ordinance 2026-05, authorizing the county’s withdrawal from the Mid-States Corridor Regional Development Authority. The ordinance passed on second reading with one dissenting vote — the culmination of months of resolutions, presentations, and public pressure from residents across the county.
After a 6–1 first-reading vote on March 30 and a 30-day discussion window, the council passed Ordinance 2026-05 on second reading, formally starting the withdrawal clock. Under the Indiana Attorney General’s guidance, withdrawal takes effect 12 to 18 months after notice.
Brad spoke at the meeting, as he has at every step of this process — from presenting the original withdrawal resolution in February to answering the council’s questions on the polling data that showed 81% of Dubois County opposed the corridor.

Close to 60 neighbors joined the first Big Tent town hall in St. Anthony on July 22. The conversation covered battery energy storage, data centers, the Mid-States Corridor, property rights, zoning, taxes, and how residents can have a meaningful voice in local decisions.
This is the first in a series of Big Tent town halls focused on local issues affecting southern Indiana. The format emphasizes two-way conversation: bring your questions and firsthand experiences, and the panel brings research and answers.
The underlying question for the series: is your government working with you, or against you? The evening centers on accountability, integrity in office, and genuine representation.
Brad Hochgesang, candidate for Indiana State Senate District 48, will be there. Come say hello and bring a neighbor.
The Dubois County Democrats booth stayed busy throughout Strassenfest, then more than 100 volunteers joined a parade lineup spanning five local campaign and party entries.
The ring toss booth gave us four days to visit with neighbors, welcome families, and hear what people want from their representatives.

The Perry County Democrats welcomed Schweizer Fest visitors beneath a beautiful new tent with cold treats, friendly faces, and conversations about the hospital, representation, and accountability.
After a storm destroyed their old tent, the Perry County Democrats returned to Schweizer Fest with a beautiful new one and a team ready to welcome the community.
Volunteers handed out cold frozen treats during the heat and listened as neighbors talked about the hospital, dependable local care, representation, accountability, and pride in Tell City.

The Friends of Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge will lead a guided Bottomland Forest Ecology Hike on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM Eastern (9:00 AM Central) on newly acquired refuge property east of Winslow in Pike County.
Forester and conservationist Doug Brown will discuss forest succession, forest types, bottomland ecology, and local bottomland oak species. The 1.5-mile round trip has about 100 feet of elevation change and is expected to last approximately one hour. Participants should dress for the weather and bring sturdy walking shoes and insect repellent.
